Our “mother ship”, Spot Image, is pursuing its integration into the Astrium group, and is now the GEO-Information Division of Astrium Services. Customers can expect the same level of image quality, customer service and even more value added solutions.

Planet Action will continue to thrive in this new landscape. We hope to offer more solutions and technologies to projects in the future.

As part of this integration process, we are also working on consolidating our reporting methods and how we measure our impact on climate change. Please continue to send feedback from the field; we are always happy to help communicate on your results.

Our next event is the annual ESRI Users Conference in San Diego. This is truly a high point each year for Planet Action as we can catch up with partners and project managers attending the conference. This year we will host an informal dinner on July 12th. Let us know if you will be there!

We are also preparing a REDD workshop for October this year. More about that later!

Our wish for the end of 2011 is that the Durban COP17 conference confirms the urgent long term financing mechanisms needed to seriously address climate change. REDD+ continues to be the key issue and is on track to making a real difference. Progress will be made in South Africa, we are optimists!
